GalaxyCon took a toll on a few pieces of the outfit. Here was the last photo taken before packing up:

I was absolutely dying in that outfit. It was over 90º.

What broke:

  • My left gauntlet’s bottom piece cracked length-wise
  • Left piece of knee armor cracked in the middle
  • Right shoulder piece cracked down the middle
  • My inner spike on my right foot was lost

All of the repairs were super-easy with some industrial strength glue and just making another spike. The great thing about things breaking is that I had the confidence (and repair kit) to quickly fix them.

But a couple of nights after we got home this happened about 16 inches from my head:

85-year-old plaster gave up the ghost.

A portion of our plaster ceiling in our 85-year-old house gave in to gravity and made a hellacious mess.

So we had the entire thing ripped out which came to about 2.5 tons (think about that when you’re in an old house).

But there was a bit o’treasure in the endeavor! We found these:

We are unsure of the color book but the game card is from a game titled Pontiac Safety Drive that given away by Pontiac dealers around 1938 (the house was built in 1936).

What does this have to do with my Fett build? It is why I stopped working on for a while. Had to spend 2 Fett suits worth to repair the ceiling.
